New 75 Gallon Tank

I found a great deal on a 75g tank and stand. It's pre-drilled with an overflow and includes a sump and auto-top off system that he built. It's currently used as a freshwater tank and I intend to turn it back into a reef so I can move everything from my 46g bowfront into larger accommodations. I was supposed to go pick it up yesterday but my transportation fell through and there is no way it can fit in my van because the stand is one piece and just over five feet tall. I paid for it in full so ...

I still have 2 babies from lastyear that I really need to move, as I'm trying to gear up for the upcoming season. Both are feeding weekly on frozen/thawed weaned rats. Both would make great pets for children up through adults, or would be great animals to try and prove out in the future.

Both guaranteed to be healthy, feeding, and properly sexed.

Of course, should there be someone out of town reading this, I am FedEx certified to ship reptiles, though prices listed do not include shipping! ...

I'm leaving this weekend to work in Iowa and I cant hold onto this guy any more. Anyone from this site can make me a reasonable offer and we can work something out. He's eating like a champ now on adult mice or quail chicks but wants nothing to do with rats right now but he will take f/t or live. He is in a 55g right now that I will keep unless the deal is right but I would be keep most of the stuff in it.

I'm looking for a non-silica based play sand - preferably white in color. There used to be a company called SouthDown that supplied Home Depot stores with the stuff and it's changed its name to Old Castle and to YardRight over the past few years if I'm not mistaken... but it seems that it's primarily found only in Northeastern Home Depot stores. I'm having a really hard time finding it or a similar product anywhere in our area. The closest thing I've found is a product called "Sandtastik" ...

I don't have all my stuff just yet, but figured I'd post some pics of what I'll be working with. It's an old hotel fridge (courtesy of Ameristay on Lovell Rd).

So far all I've done was switch out hinges on the door so it opens from the right rather than the left and I cut out the wiring inside the unit. It looks like it will be able to manage eight 6qt tubs.

I've already gotten a proportional thermostat to use with this but I don't have heat cable just yet. I'm waiting ...

Getting FedEx Certified to Ship Reptiles

Here's the info for getting FedEx certified to ship, in case anyone is interested.

1) If you don't have a business name, make one up. "Joe's Exotics" will work just fine for FedEx purposes. You don't have to have a license, just a business name since FedEx's agreement with you will be that you are shipping from business to business. Then, go to fedex.com and register for an online account. You must do this first before you can do anything else.

2) Once you have an account, ...

Well, like the title says..

I find myself with several corns, a few jungles, and a couple balls that just don't want to take that first feed and it can be oh so aggravating trying the different methods at each feed and hoping for the best. Many of my babies have come around and have started taking meals but they've taken their sweet time about it. I figured this was a good topic for discussion, so...

What have you tried when you've had a problem feeder? What has worked for you?

When one exotic bill is stopped the H.S.U.S uses its power to push another. The Humane society is largely funded by people who keep animals and don't realize what their donations are going for. Every exotic animal owner should make a youtube video and explain why we shouldn't support the H.S.U.S. I see so many commercials from the human society asking for donations and not one explains what they are really up to.
